Here's news: I can't fucking stand ambient music. I have tried, I've listened to entire 7 to 15 minute songs of the stuff by the likes of Tape (Luminarium), Brightblack Morning Light (the sleep-inducing Motion To Rejoin), and even on a louder note, Boris (Smile).

I'm not a fan of the three note changes within five minutes. Nor the unending drone of either barely broken silence or feedback. Not my thing.

But you give me a guy like James Blackshaw, and he can just fill time man, with his quiet guitar symphonies or Ravi Shankar-era George Harrison style compositions. So every rule has its exceptions, I guess.

But really, what I need is something to either fill the space, or at least make me appreciate the breaks in sound.
