I am of the conviction that Nikita (aka La Femme Nikita), of the original 1990 Luc Besson film, is the best female assassin EVER on film. Anyone wanna provide other notable female assassin movies? Other than The Bride from Kill Bill, she rocked, too.

I have only ever watched Nikita in its original French, though. And there were no subtitles, so I have only the vaguest understanding of the dialog. However, the story comes through really well regardless of language. There is a lot of raw emotion here, and it is as clear as day. Plus the action sequences, especially for such an early period in modern action films, are absolutely riveting.

Nikita, people. The most badass lady in film.
